Terms of Service

These terms govern access to GitFit, including profiles, provider connections, activity sync, public profile pages, and embeddable graphs.

Last updated: May 14, 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using GitFit, you agree to these Terms of Service and the GitFit Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use GitFit or connect any provider account.

The Service

GitFit lets you create a profile that combines GitHub contribution activity and Strava-derived fitness activity into one owner profile view, graph, and set of statistics. GitFit may include profile management, OAuth provider connections, manual and scheduled syncs, public GitHub profile pages, and SVG embeds.

GitFit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GitHub or Strava. Those providers control their own services, APIs, terms, authorization screens, data availability, and rate limits.

Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old and old enough to consent to GitHub and Strava account access under the laws that apply to you.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep control of the GitHub account you use to sign in.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs through your GitFit account.
  • You may use GitFit only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these terms, provider terms, and applicable law.

Provider Permissions

GitFit works only when you authorize the provider connections needed for the features you choose. You can revoke provider access through GitFit or directly through GitHub or Strava.

  • GitHub:GitFit requests GitHub's read:user OAuth scope and reads contribution data to build your GitFit profile. GitHub OAuth scope behavior is described in GitHub's OAuth scope documentation.
  • Strava:GitFit requests Strava's activity:read scope and uses Strava data only to provide GitFit features you authorize. Your use of Strava-connected features is also subject to the Strava API Agreement, Strava Terms of Service, Strava Privacy Policy, and Strava Brand Guidelines.

Your Profile and Content

  • You control your handle, display name, selected avatar source, public/private profile setting, and whether GitHub or Strava profile links are shown.
  • If your profile is public, anyone with the URL may view it, and anyone may embed the public SVG graph unless you make your profile private.
  • You grant GitFit a limited license to host, display, reproduce, and process your profile information and synced activity data only as needed to provide and operate GitFit.
  • You are responsible for profile information you choose to publish, including handles, display names, avatars, external profile links, and embedded graph usage.
  • Do not upload, configure, or publish content that violates law, infringes rights, impersonates others, or misleads people about your identity or provider accounts.

Strava-Connected Features

Strava-connected features are intended to show your own Strava-derived activity to you while you are signed in to GitFit. You must not use GitFit to collect, disclose, sell, license, or redistribute Strava data about another person. You must not use GitFit to build a competing Strava service, targeted advertising, data broker products, surveillance products, or datasets for AI model training.

GitFit may remove, hide, aggregate, delete, or stop syncing Strava-derived data when required by Strava policy, your privacy settings, provider revocation, API limitations, or applicable law.

Acceptable Use

  • Do not access GitFit in a way that harms, overloads, scans, scrapes, probes, reverse engineers, or disrupts the service or connected providers.
  • Do not attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, provider consent screens, OAuth state checks, or profile privacy controls.
  • Do not use GitFit to harass, shame, discriminate against, stalk, monitor, or make high-impact decisions about another person.
  • Do not use GitFit data for employment, insurance, credit, housing, medical, emergency, or safety decisions.
  • Do not falsely imply that GitFit, GitHub, Strava, or any user endorses your content, profile, product, or service.

No Professional Advice

GitFit graphs and statistics are informational and motivational only. They are not medical, fitness, coaching, safety, employment, financial, or legal advice. Provider data may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or affected by provider privacy settings and API limits.

Data Deletion and Account Controls

  • You may disconnect Strava at any time.
  • Disconnecting Strava deletes the Strava connection, removes stored Strava tokens, and clears Strava-derived daily aggregates.
  • If Strava sends GitFit a deauthorization webhook, GitFit deletes the Strava connection and clears Strava-derived daily aggregates.
  • You may make your profile private, hide provider profile links, or request account deletion by contacting GitFit.

Service Changes and Availability

GitFit may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature. GitHub and Strava may change or revoke API access, scopes, data fields, rate limits, branding requirements, or policies at any time. GitFit is not responsible for provider outages, revoked tokens, deleted provider accounts, changed provider privacy settings, inaccurate provider data, or API limitations.

Intellectual Property

GitFit owns the GitFit service, design, code, branding, and generated product experience, except for content, data, marks, and services owned by users or third-party providers. GitHub, Strava, and their logos and marks belong to their respective owners.

Fees

GitFit is currently offered without a paid subscription unless a paid feature is clearly presented to you. If paid features are introduced, any price, billing period, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown before purchase.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to GitFit if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for GitFit or others, violated provider requirements, or used the service unlawfully. You may stop using GitFit at any time and request deletion of your account data.

Disclaimers

GitFit is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GitFit disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, and uninterrupted operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GitFit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, provider API changes, provider outages, or unauthorized access beyond GitFit's reasonable control. GitFit's total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed 100 US dollars or the amount you paid GitFit in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify GitFit from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of GitFit, your public profile content, your violation of these terms, your violation of provider terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction unless applicable law requires another forum.

Changes and Contact

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes materially affect your use of GitFit, we will update this page and may provide additional notice in the product.
